TSOL-MX450 in Home Assistant — validated local 02B0 monitoring

The TSOL-MX450 user confirmed that TSUN Local works with this inverter in Home Assistant through local 02B0. Earlier intermittent connection problems were traced to Wi-Fi, not a protocol incompatibility.

Validated 02B0 compatibility

Real TSOL-MX450 hardware produced valid 02B0 telemetry, and the user subsequently confirmed Home Assistant compatibility. The older diagnostic's intermittent communication issues were associated with Wi-Fi connectivity, not an unsupported 02B0 protocol.

✅ Captured protocolThe independent 02B0 dump captured 112 registers across three snapshots, including 12 successful Modbus read blocks.
☀️ 450 W signatureNominal and designed powers are both 450 W, consistent with the owner's TSOL-MX450.
🧩 Firmware V6.2.18The Home Assistant diagnostic identified GEN3 / 02B0 and firmware V6.2.18.
✅ Home Assistant validatedThe device user confirmed TSUN Local works with the MX450. Earlier communication problems were linked to the Wi-Fi connection.

Local protocol path

TSUN TSOL-MX450 → local network → protocol 02B0 → TSUN Local → Home Assistant
Protocol: 02B0 was observed, not 02B2. Old communication failures were observed during Wi-Fi issues; the user subsequently confirmed normal operation. All TSUN Local requests are read-only.

What the diagnostics confirm

AC monitoringPreviously valid readings included 117.6 W AC, voltage, current, frequency and total AC energy.
PV decoding cautionAn older diagnostic version falsely inferred four inputs and implausible PV3 power from a 450 W unit. Do not assume four real PV inputs.
Wi-Fi troubleshootingEarlier intermittent logger responses were traced to Wi-Fi connectivity. Check wireless quality first if the logger goes offline.
Validated hardwareThe TSOL-MX450 is listed as Home Assistant-validated on 02B0. No protocol incompatibility was established by the older connection failures.

Home Assistant setup

  1. Install TSUN Local through HACS.
  2. Restart Home Assistant.
  3. Add TSUN Local from Settings → Devices & services.
  4. Use automatic discovery when available, then verify protocol 02B0 and that live AC/PV telemetry is plausible.

Validation evidence & contributor thanks

Thanks to HACF contributor phklrz for the September 2026 MX450 hardware dump and anonymized Home Assistant diagnostic. The diagnostic confirms local 02B0 replies, and the device user subsequently confirmed Home Assistant compatibility after identifying the Wi-Fi issue.
